guys I’d just like to point out in the first gif, if you look closely to Jack’s left hand, it looks like he scrapes and hits his wrist/hand REAL HARD.
If he were a normal human, I’m pretty sure he could have fractured or broken his wrist from that… dang..
So he hits his hand hard, and that seems to snap him awake…
and then he curls in on himself, managing to tumble down and he seems to land a little softly, kinda with grace in a way. It shows how much he’s learned about falling/gravity/air travel the past 300 years.
Can I mention something here too?
You know how Jack was knocked against the ice with Pitch’s blacksand? He could’ve hit his head, but I don’t think that should’ve knocked him out too badly…
but what if that nightmare blast was the cause of Jack starting to loose consciousness? What if that nightmare blast Pitch hit Jack with…. what if Pitch intended to make Jack sleep in a realm of nightmares? For a possible LONG time? Pitch has the ability to do that..
But then the pain of “breaking” his hand woke Jack up, he was able to fall without completely breaking his whole body.
Pitch leers over the side, probably thinking Jack is now asleep to an eternity of nightmares, and maybe thats why Pitch threw Jack’s staff down there, because he probably didn’t think Jack would wake up or have a way of fixing his staff.
(When Jack was fixing his staff, it seemed like he did it on natural instinct in a way, like he kinda just knew what to do. He knew he could have the ability to fix his staff, and he did. Maybe the staff has broken before? He does a lot of crazy stunts with it, if Pitch could snap it on just his leg, its pretty delicate I’m sure its been broken before.)
But its just a thought… what if Jack hadn’t woken up from that? Doomed to decades of nightmares? That would’ve been bad….
I still flinch every time I look at his hand hitting that ice wall… ugh…
